Waterloo Sound Conspiracy is a ground-breaking ensemble of classically-trained musicians who share a passion to revive the art of classical music by breaking down boundaries of tradition. Our performances have ranged from clubs to classrooms, neighborhood front yards to coffee shops, and concert halls to theatres. We seek to inspire and engage audiences by presenting classical music in fresh and unpredictable ways. We are dedicated to helping keep our hometown of Austin, Texas the “Live Music Capital of the World.”
We have had the opportunity to share the stage with fiddlers, heavy-metal cellists, indie rockers, DJs, poets, and conservatory-trained classical artists. We have been featured artists at both the South by Southwest Music Festival and Austin Chamber Music Festival, where we premiered works by local composers Graham Reynolds, Peter Stopschinski, and Russell Reed. We have also accompanied NYC electronic experimental artist DJ Spooky.
We believe that young people deserve the chance to experience the joy of music. We work with the Austin Chamber Music Center to bring outreach concerts to students in our community.
